Welcome to aiishaEVE Photography

aiishaEVE (eye-sha-eve) was born out my given name (Evelyn) and the name I inherited when I married my husband. My mother-in-law is a traditional Bengali woman and so I needed to have a name that fit in her world, hence Aiisha. What’s funny is I thought it would be difficult responding when someone called me by that name, but I haven’t had a problem. It’s kind of when someone shouts out “hey you!” in the middle of the room and everyone turn’s around, it’s funny how that happens. Anyhow I wanted to combine my two worlds and call myself by something that represents who I am today. So welcome to aiishaEVE photography.

I started developing my interest in photography about three years ago when my husband purchased our first digital SLR, the Nikon D40. I remember him taking a photograph of me scolding my niece and nephew for excessively overusing my dishwashing liquid (yes I can be frugal at times). After my lecture session with them he showed me the photo (Exhibit A) and I could not stop laughing, my face was filled with tears. At that point I realized how beautiful it was for him to grab the emotion we all were feeling at that moment…that moment triggered something beautiful; it began a new hobby, a new love interest: oh photography, I mean aiishaEVE photography =).

I hope that you enjoy viewing my photos and reading my blog entries. I am open to any feedback you may have so feel free to contact me at info@aiishaeve.com or use the contact form to reach me.

Thank You,
aiishaEVE
